Abstract

Speaker

Prof. Dr. Faisal Shafait received his PhD in Computer Engineering from TU Kaiserslautern, Germany in 2008 with the highest distinction and currently working as the Director of Deep Learning Laboratory at the National Center of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), Islamabad, Pakistan as well as a Professor at School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He has more than 12 years of industry and academics experience of working for leading organizations and research centers including German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Germany; Google Inc., USA, and UWA Australia. His research interests include Machine Learning and Data Science with a special emphasis on designing deep learning architectures for solving various computer vision problems in academia and industry.
